Happy Valentine’s Day! Before you celebrate the quintessential “Hallmark Holiday,” be sure to check out our fun story about the unusual evolution of Valentine’s Day on page 42 of this issue. Spoiler alert: It’s not just about roses and chocolates!
As the New Year continues, I would like to thank everyone who helped make our first year a smashing success! As we enter our second calendar year of operations, we continue to advance our mission of promoting equality through storytelling. In 2016, we are seeking new allies and partners in our quest to provide Virginia’s historically underserved LGBTQ community a united voice in our Commonwealth’s evolving narrative. We are expanding the size of our magazine, increasing our print production and entering more markets across the state. We are diversifying our digital presence and beginning to work with new mediums that will allow us to engage more people in a more personalized manner. Our upcoming Spring Issue will kick-off a fabulous wedding season and include lots of content about Virginia’s wedding industry in our post-marriage equality society. 2016 will be an exciting year of growth and we want you to be a part of it!
In addition to growing our organization in 2016, we will be partnering with Richmond Weddings Magazine (Central Virginia’s longest-running wedding publication and the organization behind the Richmond Wedding Expo) to host the first ever statewide LGBTQ wedding expo in Virginia’s history! For this landmark occasion, wedding industry specialists, hospitality professionals and loving couples from across the Commonwealth and DC will converge in Central Virginia to celebrate marriage equality and usher in a new era for Virginia’s diversifying wedding industry! We hope you’ll join us for this historic and celebratory occasion! For more information about our Spring Issue and the upcoming Commonwealth LGBTQ Wedding Expo, email us at email@example.com today!
As we continue to promote equality through storytelling in 2016, more than anything, we want to hear from YOU! Send your thoughts, suggestions, story ideas, articles and/or resumes to firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to hearing from you! 2016 is the year you can make your voice heard!
