Anchorage Sailor Celebrates Pride on the High Seas

The Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell Repeal Act of 2010 was the turning point that allowed LGBTQ people to openly serve in the military. Now, people in the LGBTQ community are free to serve their country without having to hide their sexuality in fear of punishment, or even discharge. Pictured is Culinary Specialist 2nd Class Kyle Toby, from Anchorage, Alaska, as he cuts a cake on the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Chancellorsville (CG 62) during a LGBTQ celebration. Chancellorsville is deployed in the Indo-Pacific region in support of security and stability. Q Virginia thanks you for your service!
